Adoption board · 3 shelters listing

Find your
second chance.

Every animal on this board is listed by the shelter that actually cares for it — with a real photo, real notes from the people who walk it, feed it and know its habits. You send one request; it lands with that shelter, not with us.

How it works

Three steps, no phone tag

Step one

Browse by species

Filter the board by species, size, sex or town. Every card shows the shelter that listed the animal, so you always know who you're writing to.

Step two

Send one request

Tell the shelter a little about your home and your experience with animals. One form, no account needed on your side.

Step three

The shelter replies

Your request appears in that shelter's dashboard straight away. They'll contact you to arrange a visit, a home check and the paperwork.

What shelters look for

Adoption isn't first-come, first-served. Shelters match an animal to the home that suits it, so a request that arrives later can still be the right one. Being specific helps: whether you rent or own, whether the garden is fenced, who else lives in the house, how many hours the animal would be alone, and what happened to the animals you've had before.

Expect a home visit or a video call for most dogs, a settling-in period where the animal stays with you before the adoption is finalised, and a follow-up a few weeks later. If it doesn't work out, the shelter takes the animal back — that's the point of going through a shelter rather than a classified ad.

Second Chances is a board, not a rescue. We don't hold animals, we don't decide who adopts, and we never ask you for money. Any fee you're asked for comes from the shelter and covers vaccination, neutering and microchipping.
